Community Conference on Commons at Ranebennur Taluk, Haveri District, Karnataka

Prakash Lambi, District Coordinator of the Foundation for Ecological Security, said that like every year, the International Day for the Protection of Collective Assets and Forestation, which will be held for three days in the first week of December this year, will be held in Gomala.

He said that this is a program to recognize communities that have developed and conserved water and share their experiences at the international level. Like every year, this year, the Gomal Kadavu Horata Samiti of Magoda village under Itagi Gram Panchayat of the taluk was identified and selected, and their experience was shared at the international level on this occasion.

The outlines of the struggle for the survival of Goma were shared through a video conference. The community itself shared success stories of afforestation, water conservation, revival of secondary industries, and clearing of cattle encroachment from different states.
